Back in December 2022, I got the idea to go back and make a little list of great albums, organized by the years and the decades they were released in.  That was the impetus to create this site, and yet there was no sign of it until today.  I’m going to be posting those decades one by one now, going backward through time.  My initial plan was to get the whole thing done and posted all at once, but I don’t think that’s a good idea anymore for a few reasons.  It’s taking forever, for one thing, and it’s not feasible to dump a lifetime’s worth of listening in one go and expect anyone to digest it.  I still don’t expect anyone to digest it in all honesty, but I figure I should make my chances as good as I can.  Anyway, these are, in my all-too-assailable opinion, the greatest albums I know and love.  I’ll be updating this hub post with links to each new post, and I’ll be adding to the 2020s and beyond, but I’m not going to go back and alter my present thoughts on the past in the future.  I have blind spots that I might get a better look at later, I might evolve my thinking on certain things, and if it’s serious enough of a change I might make a separate post about it, but I want this to stand for what it is and what it was.  Here goes nothing.  Thank you for giving it a shot, listen to more music wherever and whenever you can, and I hope to have some discussions about all this in the comments or in the Discord server (or anywhere else, really).

The Greatest: 2020-2022
